About Us
Squash Blossom Farm is a small 1910 Farmstead. Roger Nelson and Susan Waughtal moved here in 2008 and have since been restoring and bringing to life with Local Food, Local Art & Local Music.

Five years ago, Roger and Susan completed construction of a certified kitchen in the historic barn, where they bake wood-fired sourdough breads, fancy breads and pastries and make wood-fired pizza, served up to the community with live music on Summer Sundays (during non-pandemic years.) Last year, they dived into making bean-to-bar chocolate, using heritage cocoa beans from Costa Rica.

In addition to selling their wares at the Rochester Farmers Market and Peoples Food Co-op, and holding regular pizza and music nights, the farm hosts private events, classes, music and theatrical performances, and artisan festivals throughout the year.
Practices
Many of our ingredients for our baking, soups and pizzas are produced on the farm in our vegetable and herb gardens, raspberry patch, eggs courtesy of the chickens, honey from our hardworking bees, and even a bit of maple syrup from our silver maples. We strive to use permaculture techniques on our farm. No chemicals are used.
